Programs and Services

Our organization relies on dedicated volunteers. If you have a few hours a week to dedicate towards helping seniors, give us a call.

Our organization is funded through support from BC Gaming

Any additional support through donations is greatly appreciated and has a large impact on our ability to provide the following programs and services

1. Experience 50+ Living

Experience TM is all about making your lives easier — a one-stop resource for any and everything that is 50+ in the Thompson Okanagan. Check out the ever-changing articles or the insightful comments from the Experience Community. Let us point the way to relevant information, solutions and issues of the day to help you, your family or loved ones live better within your community. For more information on this please click here

2. Fraud Awareness Program:

This program is available for group’s presentations and is designed to help educate and create awareness about the different types of fraud. A variety of Fraud Awareness Presentations include Identity Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Charity Scams, Investment Fraud, Affinity Fraud and Internet Fraud. For more information please click here

3. HEROS Elder Abuse Awareness Program:

We offer help, education, referral and promote community outreach and awareness about how to recognize the signs and symptoms of Elder Abuse and what steps that can be taken to report suspected abuse. Many individuals experiencing various forms of abuse rely on CSI to provide information, support and referral. CSI fills a need in the community as there is limited assistance for people who are competent to make their own decisions but are still vulnerable to abuse, intimidation and neglect. For more information please click here

4. Information & Referral:

CSI provides a wide range of information and resource materials about Community Organizations and Services, Health and Wellness, Mental Health, Housing, Legal, and Government and contains hundreds of brochures, documents and booklets. For more information please click here

5. Advocacy & Mentoring:

Personalized assistance and referral for seniors requiring one to one help with personal issues or experiencing difficulties coping with life changes. For more information please click here

6. Income Tax Returns:

During tax season specially trained CSI volunteers provide assistance for seniors on fixed income to help complete and to submit their annual tax. We work closely with Canada Revenue Agency Volunteer Tax Program. For more information please click here

7. Peer Counsellors:

We train and supervise peer counsellors to help people with most types of common problems such as finding affordable housing or coping with life changes. Many people require emotional and social support (10 peer counsellors.) For more information please click here
